The first two Morgan Midsummer have been completed at Morgan’s historic Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern. Vehicle number one and two will leave Malvern later this week destined for owners in the UK and Germany. The landmark moment was celebrated by all the Morgan employees that were involved in the much-celebrated Midsummer project, including members from all departments across the business.
Every Midsummer owner will spend time with the Morgan Design team to determine their own bespoke specification, with a range of special requests and options being discussed, meaning every Midsummer is truly unique. The first two Midsummer to be completed highlight the variability of customer specifications with one vehicle finished in the same exterior paintwork as the Midsummer launch car, and the other sporting two-tone blue exterior paintwork with matching blue interior.
Guy Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Morgan Motor Company commented: “It is a proud moment for all involved in the Midsummer project to see the first production cars roll off the line here at Pickersleigh Road. Midsummer is a real showpiece for the craftspeople here at Morgan, it utilises their rare skills and expertise in a manner that goes beyond regular production models. Countless hours will go into each Midsummer to ensure the finished cars are of the highest quality and are bespoke to each customer’s desires. We are excited to bring each Midsummer to life for its customer, and cannot wait to see the remaining 48 commissions progress through the factory.”
Midsummer is a celebration of coachbuilding by two of the longest-established masters of the art. Created in recognition of the heyday of European Barchetta designs, this special represents the shared vision of Morgan and Pininfarina, who collaborated to reinterpret and celebrate the timeless Morgan silhouette. A Morgan special project, Midsummer demonstrates the flexibility of Morgan design whilst simultaneously showcasing the rare craft skill of the artisans who hand form every element of the distinctive body. Limited to just 50 examples, all of which were allocated to customers during a series of preview sessions ahead of launch, Midsummer is one of the most exclusive Morgan sports cars ever sold.
Midsummer was revealed in May 2024 and made its public debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Production began in August and the 50 vehicles are expected to complete production in mid-2025.
