MG Motor UK has secured the title of ‘EV Manufacturer of the Year’ at the 2024 GreenFleet Awards, impressing judges with their comprehensive line up of accessible, high-quality electric vehicles. This marks the brand’s second win of the award, having previously secured the title in 2022.
The GreenFleet Awards, now in their 20th year, celebrate those leading the way in reducing transport emissions. MG beat six other finalists to win the award, highlighting its dedication to electrification and value-driven solutions for both fleet and private buyers.
Over the past seven years, MG has experienced significant growth, expanding from 10,000 vehicle sales annually to over 80,000, with a total market share now well in excess of 4%. As the brand celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024, a key driver in this success is MG’s fleet operations, where EVs now account for 74% of the brand’s total True Fleet sales.
The MG4 EV, a fully electric hatchback, shows MG’s ability to deliver high-quality, practical, and affordable EVs. The Extended Range model features a 77 kWh battery, providing up to 323 miles of driving range on a single charge (WLTP combined). With the ability to charge up to 80% in just 35 minutes, the MG4 EV is the ideal solution for businesses transitioning to sustainable vehicles.
MG’s commitment to electrification continues with innovative models like the MG Cyberster, an electric convertible roadster, showcasing the brand’s technical capabilities as well as celebrating its sporting heritage. While this halo product is set to attract a new customer base, MG remains focused on offering value driven EV options that are accessible to a wide audience.
In addition to its award-winning EVs, MG has taken important steps to further enhance fleet support services. The introduction of the MG Fleet Charter has established clear response times and service levels tailored to the needs of fleet customers.
MG has also expanded its dealer network to over 150 locations, ensuring comprehensive nationwide support for maintenance and servicing. The brand is also launching a new courtesy car scheme to provide fleet operators with replacement vehicles for up to 96 hours, minimising disruptions and keeping businesses running smoothly.
Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director of MG Motor UK said: “We’re honoured to be recognised as EV Manufacturer of the Year at the GreenFleet Awards for a second time. This award reflects the hard work our team has put into making electric mobility accessible to all. Models like the MG4 EV have redefined what affordable EVs can achieve, offering fleets and private customers performance and practicality without compromise.”
Looking ahead, MG is preparing to launch additional EV models in 2025, including a mid-size SUV that will continue to position MG as a leader in affordable electric mobility.
